- ABM WEEK RECAP VIDEO -

The ABM STORY

By: Jeselyn Ena Thea B. Caranto of 11E

The ABM week with its central theme: Empowering Economics and Financial Literacy of Augustinian Business Managers has been an amazing and event-filled occasion. As a grade 11 student, my first experience during the ABM week was definitely a memorable one.

The first day surely made the tycoons excited about what was coming their way. With the eye-catching and creative video of the AIM Executive Board about the activities they have prepared, everyone was evidently looking forward to the week.

Firstly, if you passed by the hallways of the high school building, you would see future businessmen and women selling “time capsules” to students and even teachers. The project aims to raise funds for AIM while giving the students a way to store their memories for the school year. I would always see everyone stopping by and gathering around the booth curiously. Everyone, meaning STEM, HUMSS, and even GAS students.

Other than that, the AIM Executive Board with the help of the ABM class presidents prepared games for each section to play during homeroom. ABM Henyo and Scribble! The original Pinoy Henyo game went from “Tao, Bagay, Hayop” to “Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Entrepreneurship.” Playing scribble with my class was my personal favorite. It gave me a good laugh while guessing what the drawing of my classmates meant. These games were a great way to start the day and for the class to bond with each other.

The last day of ABM week ended in the most fashionable way with the students wearing their business corporate attires. On top of that, the AIM executive board has invited two speakers during the assembly, Enrique Martinez and Miguel Galvez. The speakers have distinctly shared their experiences in the business world. Miguel Galvez shared his experiences as a student in college. I remember vividly the 3Ps he shared from Sir Lazo, people, planet, and profit. His talk made me anticipate what life there is in college and how it will be different from high school. Enrique Martinez showed us a view of the business world in a more professional way. Seeing that he had more experience in business, he gave us a glimpse of what it is like. He also prepared a very informative presentation for the students. Their presentations showcased two different sides that we, senior high school students, are surely curious to hear about.

Besides the events of the ABM week, the AIM executive board also held contests each section participates in and competes for. TikTok ExclAIMers, bulletin board, and Quiz Bee! After 2 years since the pandemic, it was our first time having a bulletin board competition all over again. It was really exciting. I also enjoyed making the TikTok video with my class. Although handling these contests was stressful considering the school work we had to do, I still enjoyed and was excited to join contests like these again.

These activities and events prepared by the Executive Board helped shape socially responsive, ethical, and astute (SEA) business managers. ABM week has made me realize and learn more about the business world we will enter in the future. As future business leaders, we shouldn’t care only about profit. We must care for the community, that we are affecting. We must contribute and do our part. We need to make wiser and choose more human decisions. As Augustinian business managers, we must embody SEA through our words and actions. It has been an amazing week for ABM and I’m really excited about what comes next. To infinity and beyond! #DreamBigAIMHigher

GO FOR THE STARS!

By: Kassie Winffotter of 11E

As I reflect on my encounters, ABM week was such a wonderful experience, and I commend the AIM Executive Board and committees for making it possible. No strand is simple, and ABM is not one to be taken lightly considering it may be challenging. Everyone experiences various life events that shape who they become as a person. In a sense, the ABM week served as another stepping stone for me to come out of my shell and progress. Throughout the week, we engaged in early morning classroom activities, watched and listened to podcasts and videos that the AIM provided, took part in the ABM Quiz Bee, dressed up and came to school in business attire, and ended the week by listening to speakers who shared their inspiring business journeys. I'm positive that we've gained a lot of insight.

Considering how draining Monday mornings would be for most, the AIM's ABM week introduction video was a great way to start the week, and that morning, I found it amusing. Toy Story was the theme, which is a really endearing choice. They never forgot to apply this throughout the presentations and would even mention it in the scripts; as I write my insights, I'm inspired to do so as well. “Reach for the Sky!” Woody says. After being approached and offered the opportunity to host the Quiz Bee, I agreed right away. Even though I've never hosted a program before, I couldn't turn down the invitation as I was kindly asked if I wanted to host. I’m glad I seized the opportunity. I enjoyed being given the chance and I'm grateful for the offer.

Furthermore, the final day of the week was filled with compliments I’ve given and received, not only that, everyone learned in style! The speakers spoke eloquently and with such confidence in their abilities as they were able to share their expierences with others. They motivated me as I could feel their confidence flowing through me. I’m confident that most people who sat with me are just as motivated after listening to the two of them as they stand on stage with their heads held high, again, as Woody says, "Reach for the sky!"

I've learned that I should try my best in everything, have faith in what I do, and not be afraid to make mistakes along my journey. I received the notion from the speakers that I should take advantage of every opportunity that comes my way. This ABM week program facilitated the development of SEA-ABM by providing several opportunities to learn and connect. As we, innovative leaders, are empowered to be open-minded, I believe we've acquired an AIMazing amount of knowledge throughout the ABM week. Once again, I'm grateful for the experience and I would like to thank the AIM Executive Board and committees for making everything possible that week.

Reach for the sky till then you’ll aim for the stars! So long, partner.

My Unforgettable ABM Experience

By Struen Lee of 12I

My name is Struen Lee, and I genuinely love everything about ABM week. Although there were some limitations that I experienced due to being a Virtual Academy student wherein I was not able to experience the entire aspects of ABM week, I still had fun. During some days of the week, my class would work together to accomplish the games set up by the AIM Executive Board and their committees and this even allowed me to learn some new things that I never knew before. And I even learned from some of the invited speakers, the value of investing, saving, and always being willing to learn new things, which developed my SEA-ABM traits and values.
